Was it one or not? England were awarded a penalty against Denmark at the end of the first extra period. Joakim Maehle (ex-Genk) made a mistake on the dribbling Raheem Sterling, according to referee Danny Makkelie.

The Dutchman pointed resolutely to the penalty spot after the Manchester City attacker passed Maehle twice in the sixteen. The VAR watched the stage and saw no clear error and so Harry Kane was allowed to kick the 2-1 against the nets.

But was it a fair penalty? Maehle’s movement was clear, but contact with Sterling was minimal. Judge yourself.
