Mancheri ∙ The First Additional Sessions Court sentenced the husband to one year rigorous imprisonment and a fine of Rs 25,000 in the case of unnatural torture of his wife. Judge S. Nazira sentenced the thirty-six-year-old, a native of Amarambalam Chulliyot. If he does not pay the fine, he will be imprisoned for another 3 months.
The complaint is that between 2010 and 2015, he was brutally tortured at home and at his family home. According to the complaint, he took the 35 Pawan gold jewelery given at the time of marriage and demanded more money and tortured her saying that her beauty was not enough. The charge sheet was submitted by P. Abdul Basheer who was Nilambur Inspector. C. Vasu appeared for the prosecution. 18 witnesses were examined.
