The decision is made. After a long review of all situations of possible irregularities regarding track limits at the Austrian Grand Prix – following a protest by Aston Martin -, the FIA announced the application of time penalties to eight drivers, causing the final classification of the Austrian test to undergo some changes in the top-10.

The biggest loser will be Carlos Sainz, who drops from fourth to sixth, thanks to the addition of 10 seconds to his time, thus ending up behind Lando Norris (4th) and Fernando Alonso (6th). In the top-10, Lewis Hamilton dropped to eighth position, behind George Russell, also due to a 10-second penalty, and Pierre Gasly to 10th, also with 10 seconds.

Regarding the others penalized, note Esteban Ocon, who was punished in 30 seconds. In addition to the Frenchman, Alex Albon (10 seconds), Logan Sargeant (10 seconds), Nick De Vries (15 seconds) and Yuki Tsunoda (5 seconds) were also sanctioned.
