PEN center arrives in the new building

The PEN Center of the Federal Republic of Germany was founded in Darmstadt in 1951 with Erich Kästner as President and Kasimir Edschmid as Secretary General. It was not until 1998 that the association with the East German branch of the international authors’ association followed. She is particularly committed to freedom of speech and supports persecuted authors. In Darmstadt, the PEN awards the Hermann Kesten Prize every year. (job)
