Pemex accelerates payments to suppliers and improves debt management

Mexico City. Petróleos Mexicanos (Pemex) reported that during May it will accelerate payments to its suppliers by 70 billion pesos, an increase of 41 percent compared to the 49.7 billion pesos it covered in April, and detailed that with the increases scheduled for This year, it not only seeks to meet its obligations, but also improve the management of its debt, which went from 131 billion to 101 billion dollars.

In a report delivered to the Energy Commission of the Chamber of Deputies, he highlighted that although last year he faced challenges in paying his suppliers, this year he will improve significantly, as he begins to resolve his debts.

He highlighted that during the first three months of 2024, it paid a total of 95,638 million pesos to its suppliers, 16 percent more than in the same period of the previous year, when 82,235 million pesos were paid.

The goal is to regularize all due dates with suppliers by August, one month before the end of the current administration. He indicated that he has maintained continuous payments to his suppliers and is carrying out new strategies to streamline them even more.

He explained that in 2023 it covered a total of 413 billion 937 thousand pesos to its suppliers, contractors and oil operators.

He also recalled that since March 18, 2022, he made public the names of the companies that provide services, the current contracts, their amounts, as well as a detailed report with the payments covered and the estimated dates for the missing ones.

The oil company indicated that the page has registered millions of visits, with more than 571 thousand searches in 48 thousand contracts.
