SUMEDANG – Haurngombong Village Government (Pemdes), Pamulihan Subdistrict, Sumedang Regency, pays attention to breeders by helping to facilitate problems that arise due to the threat of Mouth and Nail Disease (FMD).
It is known, not all of the breeders in Haurngombong Village raising beef cattle or fattening, but also dominated by cattle for dairy milk.
The Head of Haurngombong Village, Dadang said, due to the threat of PMK being so large, livestock actors were worried.
“If it is said that they are affected, dairy farmers are very affected,” said Dadang to West Java Express, Sunday (10/7).
According to him, the impact experienced by dairy farmers is one of the factors from animal feed, which needs to be considered both for cleanliness and hygiene nutritional supplements.
“If there are bacteria from exposure to PMK, it will also have an effect on the content of cow’s milk,” said Dadang.
He said that because exposure to FMD was quite threatening to livestock, the farmers were given assistance and support.
“Here we do not provide assistance in the form of replacing dead animals or for example” vitamin administration and medicines for livestock,” he said.
“But we help and support farmers who find it difficult to deal with PMK by facilitating their confusion. We act as intermediaries or bridges of information to the agency or to the KSU (Multi-Business Cooperative),” added Dadang.
He admitted, for the production of pure milk from dairy cows in Haurngombong Village, exposure to PMK has decreased.
