The husband of US House Speaker Paul Pelosi has undergone successful surgery, a spokesman for his wife Nancy said. During the attack on the couple’s home, Mr. Pelosi suffered a skull fracture and severe injuries to his right hand and arms. The information has been confirmed that the attacker has requested a meeting with the president of the lower house of Congress.
Mr. Pelosi was operated on in a hospital in San Francisco, California. “Doctors are waiting for his full recovery,” reads a statement website President of the Chamber of Deputies.
A 42-year-old man broke into Pelosi’s home on the morning of October 28 with a hammer and attacked 82-year-old Paul Pelosi. The suspect faces charges including attempted murder and elder abuse. The Speaker of the House of Representatives was not at home at the time of the attack.
