Reigning league champion Bodø / Glimt confirms the signing of Amahl Pellegrino (31) on a contract for the rest of the season.

As VG experienced earlier on Tuesday, Amahl Pellegrino has signed a short-term contract with Bodø / Glimt for the rest of the season. That confirms the club on their websites.

– It feels good. Glimt is a good team, there are good training facilities and good sessions. Now I have participated in a normal session, there is good quality in the group and the pulse feels good, says Pellegrino to the club’s website.

Pellegrino can make his debut for his new club already on Thursday in the VG + broadcast match against Zalgiris Vilnius in the playoffs for the Conference League.

On Tuesday morning, Bodø / Glimt posted a video on Twitter where they printed a suit with suit number 11. This is the number Pellegrino will play with.

Avisa Nordland previously reported that Pellegrino, last year’s second highest scorer in the Elite Series, had landed in Bodø and also posted pictures of Pellegrino at the airport.

Pellegrino argued opposite Avisa Nordlands journalists that he was only going to Bodø to deliver some clothes to his former teammate in Kristiansund Sondre Sørli.

Many may have thought that a return to Strømsgodset was in the cards, but now he joins the reigning league champion Bodø / Glimt.

The 31-year-old left Kristiansund in favor of Damac FC in January, but confirmed last week that he was finished there after his contract was terminated by mutual agreement between him and the club. There were two goals in twelve games in Saudi Arabia.

Pellegrino’s last season in the Elite Series, in 2020, ended with 25 goals. Then he became number two on the top scorer list in Norway. Only former Bodø / Glimt striker Kasper Junker scored more.

PS! On Thursday, VG + Bodø / Glimt’s qualifying match in the Conference League will be broadcast against Zalgiris Vilnius. The studio broadcast starts at 6.30 pm. Kick-off is at 19.00.
