Election night report
Read what happened in the election staffs in Bratislava during Saturday night. Ivan Korčok’s staff and the winner of the election, Peter Pellegrini, visited the list of reports.
On Sunday, when asked by Seznam Zpráv, Pellegrini stated that as president-elect, he is going to improve current Czech-Slovak relations mainly through communication.
“We will cooperate and, above all, communicate, which means having a direct line, explaining each other’s individual positions and preventing conflicts,” replied Pellegrini while leaving the Joj TV building, where he was giving an interview.
“We have to discuss things in advance so that one or the other side does not react unnecessarily if they feel any tension somewhere,” said the current speaker of the parliament.
“I think that intensive communication between the highest representatives of both states is the most concrete thing we can do,” he added.

On Sunday, he completed a series of television interviews on TA3, on public broadcaster RTVS and then on TV Joj. Markíz Pellegrini canceled the interview for television due to fatigue.
He will take office on June 15, when he will replace President Zuzana Čaputová in the presidential palace. Pellegrini wants to meet with the current head of state in the coming days.
“I really appreciate that she was the first one to call me at night to congratulate me on the result. I will be glad if I can say hello to her. And maybe we will agree on how and when we would send a team to the presidential palace,” Pellegrini continued to tell journalists.
