Jakarta –
With the arrival of the new fleet, at this time Water Lamp already has 5 Airbus A320 aircraft from a planned total of 18 Airbus A320 aircraft in 2023.
The ceremony for the arrival of the 5th aircraft was held in Jakarta on Tuesday (28/3/2023) and led directly by the Main Director of Pelita Air Dendy Kurniawan. The presence of Pelita Air’s 5th fleet complements the presence of the previous fleet which has been present since April 2022 for the first and second fleet, followed in August of the same year for the 3rd fleet, and February 2023 for the 4th fleet.
“The arrival of the 5th aircraft is a concrete manifestation of Pelita Air’s commitment to strengthening domestic route services to support air connectivity in Indonesia and also coincides with preparations to anticipate increased demand ahead of Eid,” Dendy said in a press release received, Wednesday (29/3/ 2023).
Especially for the homecoming of Eid, Water Lamp ready to continue to add new fleets and routes as expected by the community. Currently Pelita Air is waiting for the arrival of the 6th to 10th planes until July 2023. Meanwhile the 11th to 18th planes will only arrive in Semester II/2023.
The Ministry of Transportation predicts that there will be 123.8 million people going homecoming. This number increased by 14.2% when compared to the Eid 2022 period which reached 85.5 million people. The prediction of a surge in people’s homecoming is due to changes in policies and regulations for handling Covid-19 which are also getting better, besides that the community’s economic factor which is recovering is the reason for the potential increase in volume.
Scheduled flights are a form of business transformation Water Lamp which focuses on the main business line, apart from air charter, logistics, aero services and ancillaries as supporting business lines.
