Ronaldo bought up his 100th and 101st goals in the Portuguese national team earlier today. CR7 got it when Portugal played against Sweden in the continued group phase UEFA Nations League.
Playing at the Friends Arena, Solna, Wednesday (9/9/2020) early morning WIB, Ronaldo made two goals in the 44th and 71st minutes, in a 2-0 win Selection of Quinas. The two goals made Ronaldo carve a personal record.
Ex player Sporting Lisbon, Manchester United, and Real Madrid it became the second most fertile player at international level, after Ali Daei, the Iranian national team legend who has a record 108 goals. In addition, Ronaldo became the first player in Europe to reach 100 goals in the national team.
Pele, a living legend of the Brazilian national team, praised Ronaldo. He even felt surprised that his prediction had missed that Ronaldo not only scored 100 goals, but 101 goals.
“I thought we were going to celebrate 100 goals today, but it was 101! Congratulations @Cristiano, once you’ve reached new heights in your journey,” tweeted Pele’s official Twitter account.
Pele himself has a record of 77 goals for Brazil national team, and became the man who led the Samba Team to win World Cup three times. Meanwhile, Ronaldo himself has never led Portugal to victory in the event, only winning European Cup and UEFA Nations League.
Ronaldo only needs seven more goals to match Ali Daei’s record. Given that the competition is still long, it is not impossible that the striker who is currently playing at Juventus that is extreme his note.
