On Sunday, 29-year-old Janne Puhakka was found shot to death in an apartment in Espoo, Finland. The man’s ex-partner was arrested on the spot and has confessed to murder, reports Yle.
The former hockey player was close friends with SVT icon Pekka Heino. They found each other through the common denominator that both were in a Finnish-Norwegian relationship.
– For me it felt special because I had never communicated with someone in Finnish when I was an adult about relationships, so it felt nice, Pekka Heino tells QX.
Like a big smile
The terrible news of the sudden death of his friend Pekka Heino arrived on Monday.
– As soon as I heard that, I started to cry. Janne was such a nice guy, it was like a big smile for him, says Pekka Heino.
The suspect was arrested Tuesday on suspicion of murder. Detention hearings will be held on Wednesday.
Pekka Heino tells QX that he wants to give Janne Puhakka a dignified funeral.
– He was curious about people, he wanted so much and liked everyone. He was close to laughter, he was positive and extremely attractive, he says.
