Congress of Deputies
You have paid off part of the mortgage, you have opened an investment fund and you declare how much you have collected from your tenant
MadridIn the last four years, Pedro Sánchez has paid off a 25,000-euro mortgage and has opened an investment fund of almost 81,500 euros. These are two pieces of information that emerge from the update of the president’s declaration of assets. Sánchez updated the document, collected by Europa Press, which he registered in December 2019, after winning the elections with which he revalidated the presidency of the Spanish government, and which he has updated now that the legislature has ended and a new one will begin. As head of the Spanish government, Sánchez earns 87,614 euros per year and, in addition to paying off part of his mortgage and opening an investment fund, during the last four years he has also increased his pension plan by 1,200 euros and now reaches 105,376.10 euro.
In their checking accounts, however, the figure has decreased. When Sánchez became a deputy in Congress in December 2019, he declared that he had a total of 43,956.98 euros divided into three accounts. He now has 19,208.72 euros in two checking accounts. His listed shares have also gone down: he has gone from 5,792 to 5,104 euros. On the other hand, if four years ago he declared a microcredit of 2,000 euros to the PSOE, now he assures that he allocates 4,418.40 euros in donations to the party and “others”, without specifying.
Two owned homes and one rented
Sánchez maintains the real estate assets that she had in 2019. She has two homes in Madrid, one 50% owned and the other 100% owned, as well as two parking spaces, with the same ownership regime. Of the apartment whose property she shares, in 2008 she signed a mortgage of 159,300 euros, of which in 2019 she had 86,242 left to pay. This 2023, the debt has fallen to 61,786.31 euros. Pedro Sánchez, in addition, has rented one of the two apartments, for which he has declared having received 12,845 euros.
And personal income tax, how much do you pay? In 2022 he paid 10,508.62 euros, a lower figure compared to what he declared he had paid in 2018: 34,709.77 euros. The president also declares 360.75 euros in dividends and 294.02 in “others”. He has also increased what he charges for copyright: he has gone from 16,666 euros in 2019 to 42,000 euros in 2023.
