Pedro Martín proposes to incorporate a submarine installed in Tenerife into the search for Anna and Tomás | Radio Club Tenerife

Pedro Martín has assured the SER that he has proposed to the Government Delegation in the Canary Islands the use of the private submarine Piscis VI to search for little Anna and Tomás Gimeno after the friction due to the maintenance of the Ángeles Alvariño ship. The president of the Cabildo de Tenerife has explained that this privately owned resource, a small device that can be submerged to 2,180 meters deep, is installed on the island.

“Of these there are not many in Europe and we are lucky to have one. I am sure that steps could be taken to also take advantage of the fact that it has a professional crew that could help at the moment”, the leader has pointed out. “The important thing now is that we can continue these works and at the same time look for alternatives”, has insisted.

The submarine was installed last February in Radazul in order to collaborate on a strategic project with the Instituto Oceanografico de Canarias (IEO). In addition, it has been declared of strategic interest by the Ministry of Industry, Commerce and Tourism.

Martín has also indicated that in the last hours he has held talks with the delegate and subdelegate of the Government to try to prolong the presence of the ship Ángeles Alvariño since “It is not a Civil Guard vessel to carry out this type of work. It is a scientific research vessel that had other tasks and which has been extended to be here due to the importance of the case.”
