The Moto2 riders made a commendable effort in Practice 2 of the Las Américas GP, overcoming the light rain that fell in the middle of the session and improving the times at the end when the batch already seemed lost. The Shark of Mazarrón has stopped the clock in 2:08.856 and that has given him a wide advantage of 0.223 over Tony Arbolino, that after his victory in Argentina he rose to the leadership of the intermediate class for the first time and here he debuts it.
The third in contention was Arón Canet, 0.274 behind the head, and after the Valencian and until closing the top 14 with provisional direct access to Q2, Roberts, Dixon, Lowes, Arenas, Chantra, Baltus, Salac, Bendsneyder, Binder, López and Aldeguer have finished. Further back, Alcoba 16th, González 17th, García 20th, Ramírez 23rd, Guevara 27th, Gomez 28th and Sanchis 29th.

Note that this event marks the World Cup debut of Izan Guevara in Moto2. The current Moto3 champion missed the first two tests as he had to undergo surgery to have an arm repaired that suffered an accident in the first preseason tests, which gave him war all winter and forced him to step up land in the last tests of the preseason. Patience with him, because he is one of a kind.
