Pediatric vaccination has been a success – Diario La Tribuna

The head of the Ministry of Health (Sesal), José Manuel Matheu, highlighted that pediatric vaccination against COVID-19 has been a success, especially in the capital. On the other hand, he warned that the protests by health workers are unjustified.

Matheu made a tour of the points established to apply the pediatric vaccine in Tegucigalpa and assured that the day is developing in a fantastic way, because there is a large influx of minors who are being immunized against the deadly virus.

“This is what we dreamed of,” he indicated, while adding that the indifference in the population regarding the anticovid vaccine is being overcome.

About 500 minors will be vaccinated in each of the immunization centers and in some of them, much more could be served.

“I thank the health personnel, because they are not paid overtime, they did not have to work the weekend either, however, here they are accompanying the fight,” he said.

THEY ARE NOT EMPLOYED

Regarding the strikes carried out by health workers, demanding their agreements and permanence, he expressed that “they do not have to be in protests and less if they are not employees of the Ministry of Health; As long as they do not have an agreement, they are not our employees, we are in permanent meetings with the medical, nursing and microbiological unions”.

He emphasized that the sectors linked to health have understood the situation and have come together to support the revision of documents. In turn, he stated that there are personnel who do not belong in the front line, so this week the situation will be presented to the National Congress (CN).

“I can’t sign a contract or an agreement if I don’t have a budget; I cannot solve anything, it is not in my hands, I have been clear, I cannot lie to them and I cannot offer what I will not be able to fulfill, if the Ministry of Finance does not send us the budget”, he assured. (DS)
