All blood donations are made at the donation center of the Social Security Fund (CSS) located on Tumba Muerto avenue, this in front of the Condado del Rey entrance, above Nikos Café on the first floor.
For people who want to contribute their bit, the hours are Monday through Friday from 7:00 am to 5:00 pm, Saturdays, Sundays and national holidays from 7:00 am to 2:00 pm
Also, it is important the donor to say that their blood donation is directed to HEPOTH.
Among the requirements that are requested to donate blood are, be over 18 and not over 65, Panamanians with a personal identity card or foreigners with a passport and identification card, the minimum weight of 110 pounds, do not eat liquids and low-fat foods before and after donating. and have not donated blood in the last three months
The main pediatric patients in this health unit who need blood correspond to the hemato-oncology service (patients with Leukemia), surgery patients (cardiovascular, orthopedics, neurosurgery, among others) and all the emergencies presented that require it.
