A pedestrian died on the A20 near Rotterdam Overschie after a collision with a police car. The cause of the collision and more details about the victim are not yet known.
The clash happened around 5:20. At the moment it is not clear whether the victim is a man or a woman and what he was doing on the highway. The police also do not yet know how the clash could have happened, writes the regional information site Rijnmond.
Due to a police investigation into the collision, the A20 between the Terbregseplein junction and the Kleinpolderplein junction was closed in the direction of the Hook of Holland.
Traffic may divert via the Van Brienenoord bridge (A16), and then continue the journey via the A15 and the Benelux tunnel (A4) onto the A20 westwards, the ANWB reports.
