The Central Bohemian Region is one of three where YES did not win the weekend regional elections and the only one where the government movement was not even in second place. He will not even be on the council, he will be replaced by his former coalition partners from STAN and ODS, which, however, YES replaced representatives of the CSSD and the support of the Communists during the last election period. There will be no new YES as the only entity in the council.
“We have decided to hear the wishes of voters who have decided which parties have and which should not be represented in the Central Bohemian Region,” commented the new Governor Petra Pecková (STAN). However, she refused that the new coalition would be united mainly by resistance to YES.
Pecková will replace Jaroslav Pokorná Jermanová (ANO) in the governor’s chair, and her first deputy will be Martin Kupka (ODS). Pecková will be responsible for external relations, security, communication technologies and digitization.
Kupka will be one of the two councilors for transport, he will be in charge of the infrastructure. The coalition decided to divide the topic of transport between the two councilors. “We consider transport to be such an important area for the Central Bohemian Region that we want to strengthen it in the council in terms of personnel,” Kupka explained. He will be in charge of the road infrastructure himself. Petr Borecký (STAN) will be the councilor for public transport.

The leader of the Pirates Jiří Snížek should be in charge of regional development and spatial planning, the second department of the Pirates will be the environment and agriculture. Petra Pecková stated that the creation of the coalition agreement will take some time. “We are working on the intersection of our programs, on the program statement, and then on the coalition agreement,” she announced. She refused that the arrival of the new set would be accompanied at the regional office by an imaginary “night of long knives”, ie a large exchange of officials. But some changes are already in mind the new governor, for example, she wants to replace the director of road administration and maintenance.
In the Central Bohemian Region, five groups joined the council, of which only YES will be in opposition. YES has fifteen out of 65 deputies, the winner of the STAN election by three more, the ODS won sixteen. The pirates won twelve seats and the Allies for the Central Bohemian Region, who associate TOP 09, Hlas and Zelené, the remaining four. So far, neither the CSSD coalition nor the Communists, on whose support the current coalition relied, have reached the council.
