PEC Zwolle can already promote to the Eredivisie tonight. Dick Schreuder’s team must therefore win at FC Eindhoven during the 32nd round of play in the Kitchen Champion Division and hope that Almere City FC loses to Jong AZ at home.
In that case, PEC Zwolle will be on 75 points and number three Almere City will be stuck on 56 points, a gap that would no longer be closed with six rounds to go. Both the champion and the number two are promoted directly to the Eredivisie.
PEC Zwolle descended to the second division after ten years at the highest level last season. ‘De Blauwvingers’ recovered nicely from a dramatic start last season under Schreuder, who joined in the meantime, but started the catch-up race too late to prevent relegation.
This season, PEC Zwolle, together with fellow relegation Heracles Almelo, clearly stands out. Heracles is five points behind the leader and is therefore on track to also immediately return to the Eredivisie.
De top vijf in de Keuken Kampioen Divisie:

- 2. Heracles Almelo 31-67 (+51)
- 3. Almere City FC 31-56 (+11)

PEC Zwolle won 13-0 this season
With seventeen goals, Lennart Thy is the most productive player in Schreuder’s selection. Thomas van den Belt, who will leave for Feyenoord after this season, also has a generous share in the upcoming promotion with thirteen goals and eight assists.
On March 3, PEC Zwolle triumphed 13-0 against FC Den Bosch, equaling the greatest result ever in Dutch professional football. Three years ago, Ajax won with the same figures at VVV-Venlo in an Eredivisie context.
