For my part, I am very surprised not to find Carbon & Silicon, the memorable comic book of Mathieu Bablet. We can note the presence of a self-published album: An exemplary year from Lisa Mandel. Well done also to Lucie Quéméner, which integrates the official selection with his very first album. You can find the selection for the two youth prices, the heritage price and the thriller price, on the festival site.

A two-step edition

It would have been far too optimistic to think that the next edition of the festival could go as usual. Already last January, the 2020 edition barely fell through the cracks of the health crisis. On its official website, the festival team said the event will take place in two stages. At the end of January, several actions will be organized in compliance with health standards. The beasts will be well restored, and the Grand Prix 2020 exhibition Emmanuel Guibert will be launched. This will be held until June, when the team plans to postpone the event. It is to be hoped, however, that this decision will not prejudice the Lyon BD festival, which is held every year in June …

Anyway, meet at the end of January to find out the name of the next Fauve d’Or.
