“I am deeply committed to announcing that the beautiful and powerful woman Helen McCrory is has passed away peacefully at home after a heroic battle with cancer,” British actor Damien Lewis wrote on Twitter.
“She was surrounded by a wave of love from family and friends. She died as she lived. Undaunted. God how we love her, and we know how lucky we are to have had her in our lives.”
Helen McCrory is also known for “The Queen”, in which she played Cherie Blair and she also appeared in the Bond movie “Skyfall”.
McCrory had a daughter and a son, along with Lewis, himself known for the “Band of Brothers” and “Homeland” series.
