Armed Criminal Group (KKB) burning residents’ houses and shooting at the TNI-Polri, in Ilaga District, Puncak Regency, Central Papua. The guard from the TNI-Polri was carried out to prevent the KKB’s follow-up action led by Titus Murib Kwalik.
“Currently the joint personnel are still guarding and patrolling around Ilaga City,” said Head of Public Relations of the Papua Regional Police Kombes Ignatius Benny Ady Prabowo to reporters, Saturday (18/2/2023) evening.
According to Benny, Titus Murib Kwalik et al also attacked the TNI-Polri. There were no casualties in the shooting incident.
“There were no casualties in this gun battle, but there was material loss where the KKB set fire to a house next to the Telkom Tower,” he said.
Meanwhile, the Chief of the Puncak Police, Kompol I Nyoman Punia, said that it was not yet possible to process the crime scene (TKP) for the burning houses. The reason is the situation and security which is still vulnerable.
“The condition of the house that was burned was empty because the owner had abandoned it. It is suspected that the material loss was around IDR 350 million,” he said.
