Peacekeepers die in helicopter crash in Sinai

Seven international peacekeepers, including five Americans, killed in helicopter crash Egyptian Sinai Peninsula, reports the broadcaster BBC.

Israel has stated that it has offered assistance in evacuating the wounded from the scene of the accident.

The US military confirms that it is aware of the incident.

The Multinational Force and Observers (MFOs) themselves also confirm that they are investigating the incident with one of the mission’s helicopters.

The MFO was set up to monitor the border between Egypt and Israel following the 1979 peace agreement.

Currently, the force consists of 1,154 soldiers from 13 countries. The largest contingents are from the United States, Colombia, Fiji and France.
