Peace March along the Danube

A peace march along the Danube to Ulm started in Donaueschingen (Schwarzwald-Baar district) on Good Friday. The organizer, Heidrun Hog-Heidel from Geisingen (Tuttlingen district), said she could no longer stand sitting at home and doing nothing in the face of the terrible pictures from Ukraine. According to Hog-Heidel, the Danube connects Germany and Ukraine in a special way. The war must be ended as soon as possible.

Vigil in Loerrach

The Lörrach Peace Initiative is calling for a vigil on Easter Saturday at 11 a.m. on the Old Market Square. Under the motto “Peace for Ukraine – No Further Armament”, the re-established initiative condemns Russia’s war as a breach of international law. In addition to thousands of dead and injured and millions of people fleeing, there is still the danger of a nuclear war. According to the Lörrach peace activists, the conflict cannot be resolved with weapons.
