In the new program, the two artists are united by music, the basic mood of which is peace, calm flow and contemplation – as a kind of musical meditation. This time they have merged into one, creating a unique musical collage.
“For me, peace, like happiness, is the order of all things, the balance between the many roles and areas of life,” admits Mārcis Auziņš. “I cannot imagine my full peace without music and the processes related to it. It is a great pleasure that, by creating and performing it, it is also possible to become a moment of peace and happiness for the listener.”
Noting that the evening hours at the Ozolu school give him the greatest experience of peace, composer Jānis Lūsēns says: “In my creative life, anxiety and hours of peace interact, and I can only spend the evening hours at my instruments, improvising. Without noticing, the sense of time disappears and peace takes over, like a beautiful field filled with light.”
The third participant in the concert will be lighting artist Roberts Tsipruss. With his vision, he will highlight the beauty and grandeur of the architecture, interior and sacred objects of each church. As a kind of bridge from the distant past to today, there will be songs performed by two sopranos – Sanita Roze and Gunta Greisle a capella in sound and fragments from Jānis Lūsēns’ cycle “Seven songs for little Jesus”, in which only one word – Alleluia – is heard in countless variations.
