PDIP vs Pro Anies Political Parties regarding Sins That Have Not Been Laundered

Jakarta

The remnants of the 2017 DKI Jakarta Pilgub have not been forgotten by the PDI Perjuangan (PDIP) ahead of the 2024 Presidential Election. Anies Baswedan leave the ‘pilkada sin’, while the party pro Anies Baswedan dismiss assumptions PDIP.

PDIP politician Deddy Sitorus initially said there were sins that Anies Baswedan had not washed away. Deddy said this sin was related to the 2017 DKI Jakarta Pilgub.

The member of the Republic of Indonesia DPR F-PDIP said that identity politics in the 2017 Pilgub caused polarization in society. This issue of identity politics, according to Deddy, has not been resolved by Anies and has not been forgotten by PDIP.

“There is one sin that Anies has never laundered. This has to do with that, with minority groups. We know that what happened in the 2017 election during the gubernatorial election,” said Deddy in the Adu Perspektif event, collaboration between detik.com and Total Politics with the theme ‘Coalition Party: Tighter or disband’, Monday (16/1).

“There is such a thing as forgive but not forget. We forgive but we don’t forget, why? Because he (Anies) has never stated personally that what happened was wrong and I am sorry, and I promise it will not be repeated,” he added.

Rejected

NasDem Deputy Secretary General Hermawi Taslim who took part in the discussion responded to Deddy’s statement about Anies not having washed away the “pilkada sin”. He said Anies could not choose who would support him.

“So you see, when you become a person, you cannot choose who your supporters are. Our perspective on Anies is that in this plural republic you cannot manage this country alone, all children of the nation must be invited. So when there is a question whether NasDem supports the move Anies to meet with various groups, I said we support, why? We have to reconcile, we have to continue to build togetherness,” said Taslim.

Taslim thinks that one party should not claim that they are the most nationalist, thus accusing others of being desert lizards or kadrun.

“There is no one who claims to be the most nationalist and then easily accuses kadrun people of all kinds. We all need a role,” he explained.

Forgive Not Forget

Deddy again responded to Taslim’s statement. He said the identity politics that occurred in 2017 was the legacy left by Anies in the context of pluralism.

“Earlier I talked about the figure of Anies. But this is what later became Anies’ legacy in the context of pluralism, because he ignored it,” said Deddy.

“Earlier, I said goodbye, okay, we forgive him, but we’ll not forget. Because he never talked about it at all, even though it was the moment where the most painful thing in our pluralism happened,” he added.
