Head of DPC PDIP Solo, FX Hadi Rudyatmo claimed to be more supportive if Gibran Rakabuming Raka advance in the DKI Jakarta gubernatorial election rather than Central Java in the 2024 regional election later.
According to him, Gibran still has a chance to win in the capital even though he is not originally from Jakarta. Rudy reflects on Jokowi, who won the DKI Jakarta Pilkada.
“Everyone, if you work hard, the level of victory is there. Just like Pak Jokowi used to be his opponent incumbent [bisa menang] because many [warga DKI] those from Solo Raya, many from Central Java,” said Rudy, Tuesday (21/6).
Rudy assessed that it would be more difficult for Gibran to participate in the Central Java gubernatorial election. Rudy said there was a lot of resistance in Central Java that Gibran had to face.
“In general, fighting is better in DKI Jakarta than in Central Java. The resistance is greater in Central Java because there are many who want it, except for me. There (Jakarta) has a pluralistic period, only a few DPCs. Here (Central Java) there are 35 DPCs , said Rudy.
Rudy admitted that he had proposed directly to Gibran to join the DKI Jakarta governor election instead of Central Java. However, Rudy said the decision remained in the hands of PDIP General Chair Megawati Soekarnoputri.
He promised to follow the orders of the General Chairperson of the PDIP. If indeed Gibran will be nominated in the Pilgub of Central Java, Rudy is ready to carry out the work of winning.
“Where are the recommendations, if Mrs. (Megawati)’s recommendations are in Central Java, yes, in Central Java. I have never disappointed the General Chair,” said Rudy.
Previously, the Mayor of Solo, Gibran Rakabuming Raka, admitted that he received advice from the General Chair of the PDIP, Megawati Soekarnoputri, to run for the gubernatorial election in 2024. He also received advice from the General Chair of the Gerindra Party, Prabowo Subianto.
However, he has not yet detailed whether it is recommended to run for the DKI Jakarta or Central Java gubernatorial election.
Chairperson of the PDIP Central Leadership Council (DPP) for Political and Security Affairs, Puan Maharani, agreed that her party was indeed considering Gibran to be promoted at the gub level.
“Of course, Mas Mayor of Solo is one of the cadres according to the mechanism we are considering running in the 2024 Pilkada,” Puan told reporters at the PDIP school, South Jakarta, Monday (20/6) night.
