PDIP Secretary General Hasto Kristiyanto revealed three possible contents of the conversation at the meeting between President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) and presidential candidate number 2 Prabowo Subianto, at a restaurant Of Menteng, Jakarta.
First, regarding Prabowo’s blusukan in the 2024 presidential election campaign.
“If the PDI-Perjuangan is a closed meeting, the restaurant is an expensive restaurant, it’s good. Of course it’s possible, maybe, because you saw Pak Prabowo’s last blusukan, so Pak Prabowo will be stronger for the blusukan,” said Hasto at the PDIP DPP Office in Jakarta, Saturday ( 6/1).
Previously, Hasto also insinuated that Prabowo was not as strong as candidate pair number 3 Ganjar Pranowo-Mahfud MD in terms of blusukan. This was denied by Prabowo’s camp.
The second possibility, Hasto said that Jokowi could be confirming to Prabowo regarding the purchase of used fighter planes. Moreover, Prabowo will undergo a presidential candidate debate on Sunday (7/1) tomorrow on the topic of defense and security.
“We previously received information that the purchase of used aircraft was without confirmation from President Jokowi. Yes, perhaps I think this was discussed in connection with preparations for the debate,” he said.
Recently, the government postponed plans to purchase 12 used Mirage 2000-5 fighter aircraft from Qatar due to fiscal constraints.
The third possibility, continued Hasto, is about Jokowi’s message for Prabowo to restrain his emotions more. Hasto said that the former Mayor of Solo doesn’t like crowds.
“From Pak Jokowi’s perspective, it’s because Pak Jokowi doesn’t like it copper Copper (riots, ed), ‘hold your emotions’ about that, that’s just an analysis from PDI-Perjuangan you know,” she said.
Previously, Jokowi met one-on-one with Prabowo Subianto at a restaurant in the Menteng area, Central Jakarta, last Friday (5/1) evening.
Prabowo is now paired with Jokowi’s son, Gibran Rakabuming Raka in the 2024 presidential election. This pair is supported by a coalition of the Gerindra Party, Golkar, PAN, Democrat, PSI, PBB, Gelora, Pelita and Garuda.
