Jakarta, CNN Indonesia —
Secretary General (Sekjen) PDIP Hasto Kristiyanto touching on the position of incumbent DPR members from their party who are still in danger of not qualifying based on the results 2024 legislative election.
Hasto made this statement when asked about plans to use the right to inquiry to investigate allegations of fraud in the 2024 General Election and Presidential Election. Hasto confirmed that PDIP would officially use the right to inquiry in the DPR. However, the plan is still waiting for the right momentum.
“As a direction, the right of inquiry will indeed be used. But we also look at the condition of the DPR, where every member of the legislature incumbent “I’m struggling to see whether his position is safe to be elected or not,” said Hasto in a special interview, Sunday (17/3).
“So we calculate the right momentum,” he added.
Hasto said that his party had carried out an in-depth study of the academic right of inquiry text. The study was carried out by both a special team and a legal team who will also file an election dispute lawsuit with the Constitutional Court (MK).
“Currently, a study has been carried out by a special team together with the legal team on the academic text of the acknowledgment of the right to inquiry. We are seeing the momentum,” he said.
On the other hand, Hasto appreciated the support of a number of academics for general chairs, including their parties, to use the right to inquiry.
Hasto admitted that election fraud is difficult to prove. Therefore, apart from the process at the Constitutional Court, investigations into this matter must be carried out through political channels in the DPR.
“The fraud system from upstream to downstream is designed to have no evidence. So we are working hard to collect evidence,” he said.
