PDIP Secretary General Hasto Kristiyanto spoke about PPP fighters’ support for the Prabowo-Gibran pair in the 2024 presidential election. Hasto said that Ganjar-Mahfud supporters were not talking about solid or not solid but about ethics.
“This is not a question of solidity or not, this is a question of ethics. Our PDI Perjuangan wishes PPP a happy 51st birthday,” said Hasto to journalists at the PDIP DPP, Menteng, Central Jakarta, Saturday (6/1/2024 ).
Hasto said PPP had strong roots before Indonesia’s independence. According to him, the attitude of the Chair of TKN Prabowo-Gibran, Rosan Roeslani, in announcing support for PPP Fighters was unethical.
“PPP is a party that has roots before the independence of the Republic of Indonesia, so when I later saw Mr. Rosan as the head of Prabowo’s winning team, Prabowo’s winning team, the Prabowo-Gibran campaign team announced that there were pioneer cadres from PPP who conveyed this support, it was actually about ethical issues, this “These are political and war efforts from the Dutch colonial era that should not have been carried out,” said Hasto.
“Mr. Rosan forgot about the PPP’s struggle so this actually further compromised the fighting spirit of the PPP cadres because of the unethical behavior shown by Mr. Rosan in such ways,” he added.
He said Rosan erased the PPP’s history in building democracy. He then touched on Prabowo’s statement ‘your ndas ethics’.
“Mr. Rosan, the head of Prabowo’s campaign team, seems to be going to erase the history of the Kaaba party which has existed to build democracy, including at that time fighting Mr. Harto’s authoritarian leadership, so we really regret the announcement from Mr. Rosan.
“If methods like that are used, when the process violates ethics, then the candidate being nominated will also say ‘tika ndasmu’, which means showing that things that are unethical should not be done,” he said.
He said PDIP defended PPP, Perindo and Hanura as a force for the people. According to him, the announcement of the shift in support for PPP fighters from Ganjar-Mahfud to Prabowo-Gibran was a form of panic from the 02 camp.
“We are defending PPP, Perindo and Hanura, because there is a unity of truth, a unity of strength that comes from the people, and that once again shows the panic of the 02 camp that they have resorted to dirty political methods using divisions like that,” he said.
Furthermore, Hasto said that in leadership theory leaders give birth to culture. He invited Rosan to study ethics with a young PDIP politician, Aryo Seno Baskoro.
“So in various leadership theories, the leader also gives birth to culture, if the leader emotionally places your morals, then the same thing will happen underneath him. So from Bung Seno’s answer earlier it is very clear that we prioritize truth in politics, ethics, to “Pak Prabowo and Mas Rosan, please don’t hesitate if you learn ethics with Bung Seno,” he said.
