PDIP answered the Mayor of Solo Gibran Rakabuming Raka who admitted that he was not invited to the declaration event Mahfud Md become a candidate for vice president Ganjar Pranowo. PDIP said that only DPP officials and the general chairman of the party supporting Ganjar were invited to the location.
“Indeed, at this event, only the general chairman of the party and his staff were invited, also from other parties as well as friends, fellow volunteers and the success team or national winning team and Mr. Ganjar and Mr. Mahfud Md, not all of us could invite ,” said Puan to journalists at the PDIP DPP, Jalan Diponegoro, Central Jakarta, Wednesday (18/10/2023).
Even so, the announcement of Mahfud Ganjar’s vice presidential candidate was also made virtually. This is so that PDIP cadres throughout Indonesia can still watch the announcement.
“That’s why we opened zoom so everyone can see via zoom,” he added.
Not only Puan, PDIP Secretary General Hasto Kristiyanto also said that all cadres were invited to declare Mahfud to be Ganjar Pranowo’s vice presidential candidate. According to him, the invitation was online.
“So PDIP is a party that uses information technology, our system has been built, so after Mrs. Megawati decided to announce the vice presidential candidate, Mr. Ganjar Pranowo, on Wednesday, a very important day in overseeing every government of President Jokowi, we invited all cadres, members, party sympathizers and all Indonesian people using technology,” Hasto told reporters.
Hasto said the 3 pillars of the PDIP party included, party executives at all levels, party legislatures at all levels, even the party’s DPP participated online. According to him, this did not reduce the solemnity of the event announcing Ganjar’s vice presidential candidate.
“So it doesn’t reduce the solemnity of Prof. Mahfud Md’s announcement and increases emotional bonding with the help of technology. So everyone is invited,” he said.
Then, another PDIP cadre, Eriko Sotarduga, also emphasized that all regional heads were invited online. According to him, instructions to follow Zoom or YouTube PDIP have been conveyed since last Tuesday (17/10).
“I convey this, all the cadres were asked to join Zoom and YouTube, why? Because the capacity on the 5th floor itself is very limited, so indeed the entire DPD, DPC was not invited to the DPP, only a very limited number of people were invited, and all the heads regional areas, please follow Zoom, via YouTube channels and others, and this was distributed yesterday,” he said.
Previously, Solo Mayor Gibran Rakabuming Raka canceled his meeting with PDIP Secretary General Hasto Kristiyanto because of the announcement of the vice presidential candidate (bacawapres) Ganjar Pranowo. Gibran admitted that he was not invited to the cawapres declaration event.
“(Not invited to declare) no,” he said at Solo City Hall, reported by detikJateng, Wednesday (18/10/2023).
Even though he was not invited, Gibran admitted that he would watch the declaration via live broadcast. He could only watch the declaration after his work was finished.
“Not invited,” he said.
