Politician PDIPAria Bima said that his party handed it over to the management PPP related to the problem of a number of supporting cadres Prabowo Subianto-Gibran Rakabuming.
“Returning it to PPP to resolve this problem because it is the area of organizational discipline in each supporting party,” said Aria while accompanying Ganjar Pranowo’s safari in Solo, Central Java, Friday (29/12).
The member of Commission VI of the DPR believes that differences in support among cadres which do not comply with party decisions are normal. Not only in PPP, this condition also occurred in Golkar in NTT, where several cadres supported Ganjar-Mahfud.
He only reminded that each party should enforce the rules and be committed to their decisions.
“There will definitely be leaps and bounds of volunteer supporters in every regional election, gubernatorial election, presidential election. There will definitely be. That’s what Golkar in NTT also directed at Pak Ganjar. There will definitely be. The important thing is that the organization enforces the rules and is committed to the party’s commitment,” said Aria Bima.
A number of PPP cadres through an organization calling themselves PPP Fighters expressed support for Prabowo-Gibran at the Ambhara Hotel, South Jakarta on Thursday (28/12). In fact, PPP is currently listed as one of the four parties that has endorsed Ganjar-Mahfud.
Several names of cadres who attended the declaration event included the Deputy Secretary of the Advisory Council at DPP PPP Hizbiyah Rochim as well as a number of cadres such as Witjaksono to Raden Agung Zainal Abidin.
Deputy Chair of the PPP Advisory Council and initiator of Pejuang PPP, Witjaksono, admitted that he was ready to be sanctioned by his party regarding this support. He admitted that his stance in supporting Prabowo was an aspiration of lower PPP cadres.
“We are indeed consolidating, so we receive a lot of aspirations from below. So because there are many aspirations from below, we consolidate, finally this event occurs,” he said.
Responding to this, PPP Secretary General Arwani Thomafi emphasized that the party would immediately take a firm stance. However, he has not explained what steps the party will take against cadres who support Prabowo-Gibran.
PPP and PDIP are coalition partners who are supporting Ganjar-Mahfud MD in the 2024 presidential election. Apart from that, Perindo and Hanura are also supporting pair number 3.
