PDIP on the issue of being banned from leaving the city: You have to go through an assignment

Jakarta, CNN Indonesia

Secretary General (Secretary General) PDIP Hasto Kristiyanto stressed that every cadre is prohibited from campaigning for individuals, let alone out of town. This is also related to the issue of PDIP prohibiting the Governor of Central Java Pranowo reward out of town related to the 2024 presidential election.

Hasto admitted that his party had criticized one of his party cadres who became the regional head for frequent visits to Jakarta. The warning is given in writing. Because according to him, every regional head should focus on developing his region.

“We have criticized regional heads for visiting Jakarta more often by giving written warnings. Because the main task of regional heads is to develop regional progress,” Hasto told reporters, Thursday (21/7).

According to Hasto, PDIP has never banned cadres from campaigning. General Chairperson Megawati Soekarnoputri even instructed all cadres to carry out soft campaign.

However, soft campaign carried out in the interests of the party. Not for personal gain. Likewise for Ganjar as a regional head who must take root in the community.

“We do not prohibit it, but the soft campaign is for the benefit of the party, not for the image of individuals,” he said.

Meanwhile, regarding visits outside the region, Hasto said that each cadre was in accordance with the assignment or invitation. According to him, the party has arranged communication among PDIP cadres in each region.

“If party cadres meet with the party structure, right, through assignments or invitation letters,” he said.

However, he denied that his party had banned one of his cadres, Pranowo reward to campaign outside Central Java.

Hasto’s statement also denied the news of his meeting with Ganjar after the National Working Meeting of Jokowi’s volunteer, Projo, at the end of May. In the meeting which was also attended by the chairman of the PDIP faction in the DPR, Urut Adianto, Hasto reportedly asked Ganjar not to leave the cage.

“No, I told you there was no meeting. The only meeting was at the party school, that’s what happened,” he said

Hasto said the meeting between him and Ganjar after the Projo National Working Meeting only took place at the Party School. That also happened a month later or at the same time as the PDIP II National Working Meeting on June 21-23.
