PDIP DPP Chair Puan Maharani responded to President Joko Widodo’s (Jokowi) son-in-law, Bobby Nasution, who chose to support Prabowo Subianto and Gibran Rakabuming Raka, even though they still have the status of PDIP cadres. Puan said she would wait for Bobby’s attitude first.
“Yes, let’s wait and see what Mas Bobby is all about,” said Puan at the DPR building, Senayan, Jakarta, Tuesday (30/10/2023). Puan answered the question of whether she would call Bobby because he was providing support to Prabowo-Gibran.
“I don’t know how upset Mas Bobby is,” he continued.
Previously, presidential candidate Prabowo Subianto and vice presidential candidate Gibran Rakabuming Raka officially registered with the KPU. Medan Mayor Bobby Nasution confirmed that he supports the couple.
Initially, Bobby responded to whether he was still a national campaigner for the pair supported by the PDIP coalition, Ganjar Pranowo and Mahfud Md. Bobby admitted that so far he is still a PDIP cadre and will discuss the campaigner issue.
“So far, I am still a cadre, I will discuss this first,” said Bobby when met at Medan City Hall, as reported by detikSumut, Wednesday (25/10/2023).
When asked about Gibran, Bobby considered that his brother-in-law was suitable to be vice presidential candidate. Bobby disagrees with many who think Gibran is inexperienced.
“It’s appropriate, this experience is not taken from how long, it’s not taken from how long, but how quickly a person takes a moment of incident to make an experience, not necessarily a personal experience or personal incident becomes his experience, it could happen to someone, this incident becomes experience,” he said.
