PDIP accepts MK decision on 2024 Presidential Election Results: Megawati’s Political Stance Discussed at Rakornas

The Chairman of PDI Perjuangan DPP, Ahmad Basarah, said that this matter was the choice of the General Chairman of PDIP, Megawati Soekarnoputri. Basarah said that this was one of the agendas that would be discussed at the national coordination meeting (Rakornas) that would be held on May 24, 25, 26.

“That is where PDI Perjuangan will meet with all party structures, both the DPC (Branch Leadership Council) and the DPD (Divisional Leadership Council), to deliberate on the ABCD regarding the dynamics and future of democracy in Indonesia,” said Basarah. to journalists at the PDIP DPP Office, Menteng, Central Jakarta, Monday (22/4/2024).

“And then we will propose Mrs. Megawati Soekarnoputr as the General Chairman of PDI Perjuangan, the right holder of the conference, and then it is there that the PDI Perjuangan will decide whether her political stance will be inside or outside the government. “, he explained.

Basarah said his party was used to surviving different political climates and dynamics in the country. He says his party has a long history of this.

“We were on the path of colonialism when Bung Karno founded the PNI on July 4, 1927, during that period of colonial hegemony, we were then able to survive and lead Indonesia to independence together with other political parties ,” Basarah said.

According to him, PDIP verified within and outside the government. He spoke about his party’s efforts to survive when it experienced a lot of political fear during the New Order.

“We were then in government and then we left government again, I mean out of government, and we re-entered government for 10 years,” he said. .

For this reason, Basarah said that the entire party structure has the right to inform Megawati regarding her position in coalition or opposition. However, the final decision on PDIP’s political direction rests with the authority of the party chairman.

“So whatever Miss Mega decides in the future, all PDIP groups will be ready to be inside and outside the government. Because we are trained, we are educated as workers who must be able to survive in all climates and national political dynamics,” he concluded.
