Detectives belonging to the MT-0 team of the San Antonio Anti-Narcotics and Organized Crime Brigade (Brianco) of the PDI, in a coordinated effort with the local Prosecutor’s Office, arrested four defendants who were engaged in drug trafficking in this commune.
According to information provided by Subprefect Patricio Guzmán, head of this specialized unit, the investigative work carried out by the PDI for four months allowed it to be established that the accused were engaged in the sale and distribution of illicit substances at different points of an illegal land seizure in Cerro La Virgen. Likewise, a nearby address was detected located in the commune of Cartagena, the place of residence of the drug supplier and where a grocery store was located, which he used as a collection center.
The officer added that, in this operation, “814 grams of cocaine base, 18 grams of cannabis, six grams of cocaine hydrochloride, a digital scale and elements for dosing the drug were seized, as well as a van, which was used by the supplier for distribution at points of sale.”
Following instructions from the Public Prosecutor’s Office, the four defendants, a Venezuelan woman and three Chileans, were placed at the disposal of the San Antonio Guarantee Court for their respective detention control.
