Head of Bapilpres ProjoPanel Barus, said that his party would support Mr G as vice presidential candidate alongside presidential candidate P. PDI Perjuangan founder Panda Nababan spoke about ethics.
Panda believes that the Mr G in question is Gibran Rakabuming. Gibran himself is a PDIP cadre.
“Now I want to ask you first, is it ethical or not if Gibran has not been talked about by his party, by his party leadership, and then claimed later by Projo? There are etiquette, there are ethics, how come people are immediately annexed like that,” explained Panda at the Adu Perspectives event which was broadcast detikcom collaborating with Total Politik, Wednesday (11/10/2023).
Panda said Projo should meet Gibran first. Then, Projo, added Panda, also had to ask permission from Ketum Megawati Soekarnoputri.
“Is that ethical? Isn’t it ethical to wait to meet with Gibran ‘do you want to (become vice presidential candidate)’, then Megawati as party chair ‘Madam’s permission, we want to take Gibran’. Is that ethical? If it’s not ethical, that’s fine,” explained Panda.
Barus Panel responded. He said support for Gibran was a suggestion from volunteers.
“Gibran’s problem is that the process is also long. This is not just the voice of our Projo DPP management. We at the Projo DPP management in supporting one, two, this process is long, there is a 10 month Musra process, there are people’s voices that we are trying to record, there are aspirations from the people who let’s try to capture it,” said the Panel.
“That was a suggestion from friends in the area,” he continued.
