“PDI-P to Register Legislative Candidates Simultaneously for 2024 Election, including Cabinet Members”

Central Leadership Council (DPP) PDIP will register candidates for legislative members (caleg) in 2024 election simultaneously on Thursday 11 May.

PDIP Secretary General Hasto Kristiyanto said his party would register candidates from the DPR to the district/city DPRD levels.

“Registration of all candidates for legislature from the regency, city, provincial and central levels will be carried out simultaneously on May 11, at 10:00 a.m.,” said Hasto at the GBK complex, Monday (8/5).

Hasto assessed that Indonesia’s future progress would not only be determined by the presidential and vice presidential candidates, but also by members of the legislature. In addition, these candidates will also play a role in winning Ganjar Pranowo in the 2024 presidential election.

“All members of the legislature also have a very important role from the central, district and regional heads of PDIP whose number is above 54 percent, becoming an important force in winning Mr Ganjar,” he said.

Furthermore, Hasto revealed that among the registered legislative candidates, there are current cabinet ministers. In addition, there are also cultural figures, academics, and experts.

According to him, his party will also announce the list of PDIP candidates at the right time.

“The names representing academics, from cultural figures, which ministers in Pak Jokowi’s cabinet will be nominated by PDIP, experts who will become core important in every commission, it will be announced at the right time,” said Hasto.
