Chairman of the PDIP DPP Mrs. Empress said the fate of the Mayor of Solo Gibran Rakabuming Raka in the party has not yet been determined after announcing that he will run in the 2024 presidential election.
He said that PDIP was still waiting for confirmation that Gibran would run as a running mate for vice president Prabowo Subianto.
“After this, there has been no decision. So I can’t say anything yet,” said Puan after the Ganjar-Mahfud Volunteer Consolidation, in Grand City, Surabaya, Saturday (21/10).
Puan admitted that she only knew that today Gibran had received support and a recommendation from the Golkar Party to become Prabowo’s vice presidential candidate. However, according to him, there has been no determination from the Advanced Indonesia Coalition (KIM).
“There has been no decision yet, only the Golkar Party has stated that it will nominate Mas Gibran as vice presidential candidate from the Golkar Party. There has been no agreement from the entire Mas Prabowo coalition. So we’ll just have to wait,” he said.
Today, Gibran came to Jakarta to attend the Golkar Party’s national leadership meeting (rapimnas) at the Golkar DPP office. The party led by Airlangga Hartarto officially proposed Gibran as a vice presidential candidate alongside Prabowo Subianto.
Gibran also stated that he would follow up on Golkar’s Rapimnas decision with Prabowo.
Currently, Prabowo’s coalition parties are Gerindra, Golkar, PAN, Democrat, PBB, Gelora and Garuda.
