PDI-P Announces Candidates for Risma’s Replacement on August 19, 2020, Who Is He?

SURABAYA, KOMPAS.com – Indonesian Democratic Party of Struggle ( PDI-P) is certain to announce a replacement candidate for Tri Rismaharini as mayor Surabaya on August 19.

This is because August 19 is the schedule for the announcement of the last round of pairs carried out by PDI-P in the 2020 simultaneous regional elections.

“God willing, on August 19, the final stage of the announcement of regional head candidates,” said the Chairman of the East Java PDI-P DPD Kusnadi after submitting the recommendations of the five pairs of regional head candidates in East Java, Tuesday (11/8/2020).

He could not answer why the recommendation for the candidate pair for mayor and deputy mayor of Surabaya was issued at the last stage because the recommendation was already under the authority of the DPP DPI-P.

“Of course there are many considerations from the DPP, but our job is only to propose,” explained Kusnadi.

Kusnadi also could not answer the name of the pair that has a big chance to be carried by PDI-P in the Surabaya Pilkada.

“Definitely one of the 19 registrants in PDI-P,” he said.

The 19 registrants were Dyah Katarina (member of the Surabaya DPRD), Armuji (member of the East Java DPRD), Anugerah Ariyadi (former member of the Surabaya DPRD), Mega Djadja Agustjandra (entrepreneur), Sutjipto Joe Angga (entrepreneur), and Chrisman Hadi (artist ).
