Geschke, together with co-founder John Warnock, first developed the PostScript software that set the phenomenon of desktop publishing in motion. Portable Document Format (PDF), which they later came up with, was one of the first software applications to allow users to print documents exactly as they could be seen on a computer screen.
At Adobe, according to a statement from the company, Geschke was later one of the driving forces behind the development as Acrobat, Photoshop and Illustrator.
In 1992, according to the American newspaper The Mercury News, Geschke survived a kidnapping.
