Ermini’s reply in the afternoon: “I accepted the role of chairman of the board of directors of Spininvest because
I was asked to lend my professional services to accompany a new path capable of guaranteeing continuity to the industrial group, in the name of transparency and legality and also
to protect and guarantee the hundreds of workers and their jobs”.
“If it had not been so, I do not believe that the proposal would have been addressed to me. My institutional path speaks for itself. I have carried out my duties with discipline and honor and it will be the same now.
The trial events have no bearing whatsoever on my choice. The trials will take their course and the balance and competence of the Genoese magistrates are well known and I have deep respect for them. They have no bearing on it.

Ermini, in addition to being vice president of the CSM, was also Ligurian commissioner of the Democratic Party in the past and is still in the Democratic Party leadership. His appointment as president of the Spinelli group, involved in the maxi investigation for corruption and illicit financing of parties, with the patron Aldo still under house arrest, has caused tension and embarrassment in the PD, with the local secretaries Simone D’Angelo and Davide Natale who distanced themselves in a note, calling Ermini’s choice “completely personal and inappropriate”.
The right immediately seized on the case. ‘Ermini one of you’, is the sign unfurled in the Liguria Regional Council chamber at the beginning of the session by the councilor Angelo Vaccarezzto (Forza Italia).
The sign triggered a reaction from the opposition councilors and the chamber ushers intervened to remove it. Vaccarezza also argued about the absence of the group leader of the Lista Sansa Ferruccio Sansa in the first Regional Council after the resignation of the President of the Region John Toti, probably the penultimate session of the legislature before the one scheduled for September on the consolidated budget.
Regional councilor Brunello Brunetto (Lega) showed in the chamber a drug against ulcers for the same opposition group leader, but regional councilor Roberto Centi (Lista Sansa) replied that Sansa’s absence was due to his participation in the funeral ceremony of his father-in-law. Regional councilor Sonia Viale (Lega) asked for the floor to denounce that “Toti’s resignation is a punch in the stomach to popular sovereignty, which has been put in a corner, while the former vice president of the CSM and member in office of the national management of the PD goes to work for the holding company of the Spinelli Group, a black page in the history of the Italian Republic”.
