PC version of Hogwarts Legacy was equated with Calisto Protocol due to poor optimization

Despite receiving generally positive reviews, the PC version of Hogwarts Legacy has already received some criticism due to its jumping FPS, lack of NPCs, and poorly designed environments. Such problems were not noticed on the PlayStation or Xbox, so these are the “chips” of the PC version.

The game received a score of 85 on Metacritic, but performance issues were noted in several reviews, especially in the PC version. So PCGamesN in their review reported that the frame rate drops below 20 FPS in certain areas and jumps around 40 in busy scenes. The NME reviewer shared his experience, and said that the frame rate is basically not stable, which greatly hinders the combat system, and also reflects badly on the dialogues.

So far, these performance issues are specific to the PC version and have not been seen on consoles. Some critics equate Hogwarts Legacy with the recent performance failure of Callisto Protocol, and put the wizard game in the same league.

Deluxe and Collector’s Edition owners can start playing Hogwarts Legacy as early as February 7th, while Xbox players can access the game earlier using region-changing tricks. Owners of the Standard Edition will have to wait until February 10th.
