Baja California Civil Protection personnel rescued 40 people who were stranded on the highway during the snowfall that occurred early this Sunday, February 26. The people were transferred to shelters in El Hongo and La Rumorosa where they received food, medical services and blankets to face the cold derived from snowfall of up to five centimeters in some areas of the mountains.
In relation to the incidents, Civil Protection reports 78 in Tijuana, one of which left an unfortunate death due to a traffic accident, while in Ensenada 52 were registered, in Playas de Rosarito 11, in Tecate five and in San Quintín two, while in the city of Mexicali, issues related to hanging cables were addressed.
