The Executive Board of Nahdlatul Ulama (PBNU) has decided that the 34th NU Congress will be held on December 23-25, 2021. This was conveyed by PBNU Chairperson KH Said Aqil Siroj during the Plenary National Conference (Munas) of Alim Ulama and the NU Grand Conference (Konbes) on Saturday (25/9).
The decision was taken at the deliberations of the PBNU General Chair with Rais ‘Aam PBNU KH Miftachul Akhyar, PBNU Katib Aam KH Yahya Cholil Staquf, PBNU Secretary General H Ahmad Helmi Faishal Zaini.
“Bismillahirrahmanirrahim. In order to maintain the dignity of Nahdlatul Ulama and the continuity of the National Conference and Konbes in a calm, peaceful, and calm manner, earlier I took the initiative to consult with Khadratus Sheikh Rais ‘Aam, Katib ‘Aam, and the Secretary General,” said Kiai Said.
“And WL We agreed and decided that the 34th NU Congress would be held on December 23-25, 2021. With a note that the implementation of all activities of the Congress would comply with health protocols and obtain the approval of the Covid-19 task force both at the national and regional levels,” he added. .
Earlier, PBNU Rais Aam KH Miftachul Akhyar in his Iftitah Sermon apologized to all NU managers at all levels and NU citizens for PBNU’s delay in carrying out the Munas-Konbes and Muktamar agenda due to the Covid-19 pandemic.
“Sincerely, on behalf of the Nahdlatul Ulama Executive Board, I apologize profusely, to all levels of the Nahdlatul Ulama management at all levels, for the delay in PBNU during the Covid-19 pandemic in running the organization so that it has not been able to carry out the 34th Congress. in October 2021 as the decision of the Grand Conference to be held in 2020,” he said.
He said that the National Alim Ulama National Conference and the NU Konbes were currently being held as part of an effort to make a definite decision on the schedule for the 34th Nahdlatul Ulama Congress.
In addition, the holding of the 2021 NU Alim Ulama National Conference and Konbes NU was held as a medium for all Nahdlatul Ulama regional administrators to convey the aspirations of the Nahdlatul Ulama Branch Managers in their respective regions.
