Deputy Secretary General of the Nahdlatul Ulama Executive Board (PBNU) Masduki Baidlowi rates activists 98 Faizal Assegaf just looking for popularity. So, according to him, it does not need to be taken seriously.
He conveyed this in response to various accusations leveled by Faizal regarding NU, ranging from the world’s largest proposal producer to moral and intellectual bankruptcy.
“He’s just a person looking for popularity that doesn’t need further comment. He’s just looking for popularity,” Masduki told CNNIndonesia.com, Tuesday (21/12).
Masduki then explained the five-finger philosophy which he thought was compatible with Faizal’s attitude. When pointing at others, he said, only one finger is pointed but the other four are pointing at oneself.
In other words, he continued, when he pointed to someone else, that person indirectly pointed to himself. This means that what is being accused of PBNU could be an accusation against Faizal as well.
Masduki also quipped, accusing people like what Faizal did are often carried out by cowards.
“People are so cowardly may. I think if Faizal Assegaf pointed at NU with various accusations, he pointed to that one. The four returned to themselves, “he said.
Previously, Faizal was reported by the Chairman of the NU Rabithah Ma’ahid Islamiyah (RMI) Regional Board or the DKI Jakarta NU Islamic Boarding School Association Rakhmad Zaelani Kiki on suspicion of spreading false, hateful and SARA news to the Criminal Investigation Unit of the Police some time ago.

The reporter felt that the content uploaded by Faizal insulted the organization. One of them, when Faizal said that PBNU as the largest proposal producer in the world.
However, after being reported, Faizal again made accusations that NU was morally and intellectually bankrupt.
“Every citizen (citizen) has the right to report & be reported, but what they are doing is a show of ignorance & further confirms that the NU mass organization is morally and intellectually bankrupt,” Faizal said when contacted, Tuesday (21/12).
