Public Health France reported this weekend of 14 additional deaths due to the novel coronavirus in Pays de la Loire, exceeding the threshold of 2000 deaths in hospital.
In detail, the results are established by age group:
- 30-39 years: 3 deaths,
- 40-49 years: 11,
- 50-59 years: 46,
- 60-69 years: 173,
- 70-79 years: 357,
- 80-89 years: 853
- and 90 years and over: 569.
Second deadliest wave
The region is the third least affected by the Covid-19 epidemic behind Brittany and Center-Val de Loire which have recorded respectively 1,143 and 1,985 deaths since the 1is mars 2020.
The second wave – longer – was much more deadly than the first in the Pays de la Loire with nearly 1,500 deaths recorded during the last five months.
At least 978 residents who died in nursing homes
Hospital deaths, we must add the residents of nursing homes with nearly a thousand people who have succumbed to the virus according to the latest data collected by the Pays de la Loire Regional Health Agency.
France, faced with a resurgence of the epidemic due to the progression of variants, has more than 86,000 deaths linked to Covid-19.
