Payoneer cards frozen due to Wirecard problems

Wirecard is a Fintech that issues many of the cryptocurrency debit cards on the market, and apparently declared financial insolvency. This also affected Payoneer, that you are alerting your customers to the freeze on prepaid card activity.

Today, the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) that regulates the WCSL, issued WCSL requirements, freezing all prepaid card activity for the time being. We believe that the funds of the cardholders are properly protected and that the freeze will be temporary. ”

In addition, they clarified that the FCA, for its part, has communicated that they have taken these measures with the main objective of protecting the interests and money of Wirecard’s clients.

Payoneer also clarified that, pending further FCA actions, its clients may temporarily not withdraw the funds from the card, nor receive new payments on it.

Any fund that exceeds the maximum balance on your card will be retained by Payoneer and therefore will not be affected by the temporary freeze of the FCA, “they added.

Alternative to charge

From Payoneer also reported that Any future payments received from markets, platforms and clients will not be affected by the freeze.. And that Clients can log in to view their funds, and can also add their bank account to withdraw their future incoming payments.
