Payment of November aid is making good progress – Berlin.de

After a long delay, the Investitionsbank Berlin (IBB) is making progress with paying out November aid to the companies affected by the Corona crisis.

“A total of 19,300 of a total of 28,000 applications have now been paid out in full,” announced the Investitionsbank Berlin (IBB) on January 29, 2021. That corresponds to a sum of 190 million euros. At first it was not known how large the requested total is. Most of the outstanding applications should be processed by mid-February. Since Thursday the IBB has also been able to process the applications for December aid, it said.

Industry associations in the retail and catering trade had repeatedly criticized the delays in payment over the past few weeks and months. The companies concerned must submit the applications to the federal government through their tax advisor. According to its own information, the IBB has only been able to access the documents since mid-January. The transfers of the so-called advance payments, now amounting to up to 50,000, which were intended to help small entrepreneurs and the self-employed in particular, were much faster. Around 90 percent of the applications are processed here.

“We are aware of the precarious situation of many applicants who have so far received no or only the down payments,” said IBB CEO Jürgen Allerkamp. “That is why we are working flat out on the payment of the remaining applications and appeal to the creditors of the companies affected by the lockdown to be patient wherever possible.”
